How to get here

On foot or by bike

Walkers and cyclists enjoy a discount off the adult entry charge, and children under 15 accompanied by an adult come free. Make yourself known at the pre-paid ticket desk for your discount.

The Clay Trails cycle routes come to Eden from Bugle (4 miles) and Wheal Martin (5 miles), and along the way you can see some of Cornwall’s mining heritage and enjoy some spectacular views.

You can access these trails from the National Cycle Network route 3, which runs through Bodmin and St Austell or follow the Clay Trails cycle routes or call (0845) 113 0065 for more information.

There are also combined footpath and road routes from Luxulyan, Par and St Austell which all have rail links. See local map OS Explorer 107.

By bus

You can purchase a combined bus and Eden discounted admission ticket on any Truronian (T) or Western Greyhound (W/G) bus. Buses run regularly to Eden from St Austell Station, get on the T9 or W/G 527. Buses also run to Eden from Newquay hourly throughout the year (W/G 527).

In summer only, Truronian buses run from Falmouth (T11) via Truro and Newquay (T10) via the airport and Roche (where there is a station).

The T24 from Lostwithiel to Stenalees via St Austell will drop you off near our North gate (a walk of about half a mile to the nearest car park served by a park-and-ride bus)

By train

An all-inclusive package that offers rail travel to St Austell, bus transfer (T9 or W/G 527) and discounted admission to Eden can be purchased at any rail outlet.

The main line runs from London Paddington to Penzance, with additional services from Aberdeen, via Glasgow, Manchester, Leeds, Birmingham and many other stops in between. For further information go to www.nationalrail.co.uk or call (0847) 484950.

The Par to Newquay branch line is a particularly beautiful journey, passing through the spectacular Luxulyan valley and across Goss Moor to reach Newquay.

Coming from Newquay, get off at Bugle for a cycleway to Eden (4 miles) or Par to cycle or walk (3 miles) or Roche for a bus (T10 summer only).

By Car

Eden is well signposted from both the A30 from Exeter and the A391/390 from Plymouth. Visitors from outside the county can take the M5 southbound, to Exeter, where the motorway splits into to the A30. Take the A30 and continue until you reach the Innis Downs junction (A 391) from which Eden is signposted. There is ample parking at Eden and a park and ride service operates from the outer car parks.

By Air

The nearest airport is Newquay, served by flights from destinations including London, Manchester, Leeds/Bradford, Glasgow, Edinburgh, Dublin and some European cities. (Ring (01637) 860600 for more information).

From the airport you can get the WG 521 to St Austell or the T10 bus direct to Eden in the summer months.

Note:
All distances given are approximate and should be verified, especially if walking or cycling. Be aware that many roads in Cornwall are narrow and steep. The footpaths can also be steep and at times muddy, so please take care.
